Measureless Days
Family hikes and adventures in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
We are a family of four who love exploring the outdoors. Our youngest son is autistic and is the most avid outdoorsman of us all. We also have two nieces, grandparents, and other relatives who join us from time to time. For the last few years, we have tried to hike at least a few times a month, as weather and extracurricular activities allowed. During the COVID-19 pandemic, however, we found nature to be the best refuge. Between March and July 2020, we hiked over 500 miles of trails and roads in the San Francisco Bay area.
This blog is not intended to detail everything you will see on each hike, but rather to be a general guide so that you are inspired to get outdoors and explore. We use the All Trails App for trail and gps guidance and a FitBit for mileage estimates. Bring plenty of water and snacks, and remember if you pack it in, to pack it out. Be respectful when parking on neighborhood streets and to your surroundings. Stay on the designated trails and leave what you find. Click on Hikes below for our recommendations. Each blog post has three hikes listed. We hope you find a few new trails to enjoy!
